Blessings

I came across this quote and I just love it.

How often do we lift our heads from the buffet of God’s blessings only to voice a complaint? We’re surrounded by mercies, enjoying more than we could have ever asked for or imagined, and we’re complaining because we’re stuck in traffic. Because we don’t own a house. Because our coworkers mistreat us. We’re saying that God hasn’t been good to us, that he’s not so kind after all. We’re telling a lie about God… What are you tempted to complain about? When you start getting that generally annoyed, ‘I’m about to complain’ feeling, take a step back, survey the blessings, and thank God for his generosity.

I am so blessed to have such wonderful sleepers. My kids rarely wake up in the middle of the night, yet Jackson decided to get up at 3 am this morning. I found myself complaining A LOT! I am kicking myself for doing that. I have friends with kids that do this ALL the time, but the times that it happens to me, I am such a bear. Jackson just got over a little bug and I am sure he was just hungry. He got some milk and yogurt and we enjoyed some cuddling time on the couch. He is finally back asleep. So the point of this being I really need to remind myself that I am blessed; I got extra time with Jackson and he is feeling so much better. I need to thank God for healing his little body and giving me good sleepers for the most part.

I am going to try to hold myself accountable for this. I am going to make a list throughout the week where I will turn all my complaints into blessings and then it will help me remember to thank God. I really try to stay postitive, but I might come back with a rather long list 🙂 I will try to post my list sometime next week. Feel free to do the same and leave a comment below with your list or link to you list.

My number one complaint at the moment:
My house is too cold…Justin keeps it at 66 in the winter. Well that is way warmer than outside and I have tons of sweaters and warm socks to keep me warm.
